BAMBOO ISLAND KRABI
 Bamboo island was kind of busy when we arrived there. It was supposed to be great for snorkeling, but I didnt see a lot of fish. In front of the Holliday Inn resort I saw more fish than on Bamboo island.
 
Bamboo Island is a 13 km boat trip from Ton Sai pier and 5 km from the northern tip of Phi Phi Don Island

This small island was a lunch stop on a day cruise around Kho Phi Phi. The setting was idyllic, and the beers were cold, we settled in .... and almost got left behind ! I guess there could be worse things to happen to you on a holiday, though .... Pai Island lies also to the north of Phi Phi Don, not far form Koh Yung. Sandy Beaches are on the north and east sides of the island. Broad coral reefs stretch away into the south.

Take your snorkeling gear with you because on the way to Bamboo is a very nice coral garden called Hin Klang.
As Hin Klang is the best snorkeling site at Phi Phi Island a stop here is a must!
A fantastic area for snorkeling where not that many tourists stop. Most people go on a trip to Maya Bay instead.

Bamboo is a flat evergreen island with blending white sand and beautiful crystal clear water. One of my favorite islands!
Good snorkeling along the coral reef 50 meters off the white sandy beach.

Even if day trippers stop here for swimming and snorkeling it never gets too crowded.
Bamboo is not larger than you can walk around it in half an hour if you should get bored of snorkeling and relaxing on the beach.

Like at Maya Beach every foreigner have to pay a a National Park entrance fee of 400/200 (adult/children) baht to be allowed to stay on the island. It is just crazy to have to pay 400 baht to set foot on a public beach for a hour or two!

Rough sea can at times make it difficult to reach Bamboo with longtail boat even in high season. Then a larger boat like a speedboat can take you instead if the waves are not too big.
 

Bamboo Island & Phi Phi Lei
Destination - Phi Phi Lei Island & Bamboo Island for snorkeling and sights. There are several different tours that travel to Phi Phi and Bamboo Island. The tour by speed boat offers the most variety, and the tour by big boat offers the best value.


Phi-Phi Island full day trip/tour by Speed Boat

8.00 - 08.30 am - Pick-up Service from hotel and transfer to the Pier
9.00 am - Departure from Ao Nang & Railay Beach
9.45 am - Bamboo Island for swimming and snorkeling.
11.45 am - lunch is served
13.00 pm - Sight seeing including the Viking Care
13.30 pm - Enjoy snorkeling and swimming at Maya Bay
16.30 pm - Arrive at Railay Beach and Ao Nang Beach
Transfer back to the hotels in Ao Nang & Krabi.
What to wear :
T- shirt , Swimming suit , and Beach sandals

What to bring :
Sunscreen , Sunglasses, Hat, Beach Towels , Beach mat

Tour includes:
Transfer by longtail boat, Life Jacket, Drinking water, Lunch Mask and Snorkel and Guide.
